Being Nothing More…
‍CNC milled boulder made by 3D scanning and scaling a rock to the exact volume of the artist’s body, found to be 5,616.188 cubic inches, at age 38. The piece is an attempt to simplify and define existence as a specific and limited amount of calculable space.

Lisa Jamhoury
‍‍L'Entrée No. 1
‍Video featuring sculpture created with photogrammetry, motion capture, and a gaming engine exploring the desire to capture, understand, and keep unchanged the vital human body. Featuring movement by Hybrid Movement Company and sound by Matt McCorkle.

‍

Luca Lee
‍Growth
‍3D animation that reflects on the passing of time from the perspective of a supertree. The work plunges us into a speculative future where all organic matter, including human beings, is extinct. The tree holds the samples of extinct species.

Nimrod Astarhan
Khazar Archeological Confabulations 010D
‍A cyanotype print of a confabulated archeological line drawing is rendered through a home-brewed AI trained on 3D objects excavated from the Khazar capital of Atil, reconnecting to the artist's lineage through their belief in the eternal blue sky.

‍

Mathias Kessler
After The Sea of Ice
3D animation of the melting of Kasper David Friedrich's Iconic piece The Sea of Ice melting from 1824-2024 with climate data.

Biomorphic Confluence: Speculative Interspecies Networks
‍Video synthesized through AI processes, employing image generation and motion synthesis to meld botanical datasets with imagined biotechnological entities, exploring liminal interfaces between digital and organic realms. This speculative interspecies network visualizes a fluid ontology where visceral, material intelligence and artificial cognition intertwine, evoking tactile sensations in a purely digital medium.

Jenn Kitagawa
‍On the Cloud
‍An analog observation of digital spaces and their overlap with nature, using familiar materials to emphasize tangibility in a disembodied environment. In tech, nature is often used to help explain the abstract places we inhabit online.

‍

Aaron Alden
‍‍Sweven: An Intentional Misrepresentation of Collected Data
‍Excerpt of a generative audio-reactive TouchDesigner patch (w/music from Aaron’s album ‘Blackfeather’) drifting through Gaussian splat photogrammetry scans depicting dream-like memories of collected experience, including distortions & inaccuracies.

‍

Lauren Klotzman
‍movement iv (allegro vivace)
‍One “movement” of a 4-part video “concerto” created with an analog modular video synthesizer in order to explore expanded notions of the term “painting” and the nature of durational visual composition.

‍

Jullian Young
Resaerate
‍Experimental 3D animation comprised of 3D scans of various Colorado Front Range landscapes, 3D data visualization of air quality, and sonified data of windspeed collected from December 30th, 2021 during the Marshall Fire in Boulder County.

‍

Jon Chambers
Approximations Of a Body Part
‍A machine learning experiment that takes custom model outputs trained on 3D body scans and uses them in other model inputs. After a few cycles, the resulting videos depict terrifying, seductive and uncanny distant echoes of the original body.

‍

Jacklyn Brickman
‍Speculative Speciation: Honeycreeper
‍Animation created using AI to generate new Honeycreeper species descended from the extinct ones, highlighting what has been lost in the past, what continues to be lost in the present and may be lost for future generations. Created in collaboration with Dr. Sharon Gill.

Jordan Shaw
Reality Edits
‍A short film using video footage from Cape Breton Island, augmented with AI techniques, exploring digital disconnection, the evolution of 3D aesthetics, and how emerging technologies reshape perceptions of both physical and virtual realities.

‍

Ty Bohm‍
‍Every Waking Hour is Electric
‍Video exploring a landscape, comprised entirely of GIFs, that shifts from dawn until to dusk in a compressed timeframe. It imagines a kind of post-natural world in which GIFs, as media which circulate online continuously emitting artificial light, become a stand-in for daylight.
